Earlier wars: late 1700's: Kenneth Roberts books

I found this author when his book Boon Island was mentioned in another book about cannibalism. Boon Island is based on a true ship wreck in the 1790's where fourteen men survive 24 days in December January six miles off the coast of Maine. The author, Kenneth Roberts said he wrote the book because their story deserved to be told.

Roberts' last book was the Battle of Cowpens and how important it was in the Revolutionary War and how many authors ignored its importance. It was a short read, but so very memorable.

Roberts lived in Maine and also wrote three books, the Arundel series about the Revolutionary war. They are next on my list.
He researched going back to original sources and then wrote and he hated writers who write with an agenda.

    I can't imagin what he'd think about today's media.
