    RIP VFL Dave Bennet, 7 years ago today...

    lost to ALS. fastest white kid i ever knew, we kidded he may have been the last white corner in the league. he is missed.

            He was a nice guy, pretty hard hitter, but never really considered him all that fast.
            Was sad and tragic that he had to face ALS. Way too young to die. God rest his soul.

              I thought that David played for Ken Netherland at Germantown. He briefly joined Ridgeway Country Club when he first came back to Memphis. Great young man. Sad to hear that he lost his battle. RIP

                he did play at gtown for coach netherland. i was referring to the baseball photo when he was a kid...we grew up together and played baseball/basketball together for years.

                --> well now looking at the thread it appears all the photos i posted are gone. so dave, i posted a photo of him circa 1978 in an old school baseball jersey, i played on that team with him. i guess we lost the photos in this thread after the board changes.
