Sorry to hear that. Certainly a one-of-a-kind. I always hoped I could make it to one of his parties. This forum, along with Hoopsville, has suffered great losses in the past year.

Oh no... I'm greatly saddened to see. A one of a kind. God broke the mold when he made Mr. Adams. Bold, brassy, independent, courageous, articulate, kind, generous, friendly, caring, and so many more adjectives. Rest in peace my friend. I wish that the distance between us would've been better for us to have met.

I spoke with Roy on the phone a couple of months ago. He knew that he was "on the clock." He was hoping to hold on for this coming football season to see his beloved Vols begin their rise from the ashes. In dealing with him on an individual basis, I never had the first problem and he was always kind and considerate. Maybe Athenian will be by with some of the final details. RIP Roy, you were colorful, bombastic, controversial but never, ever dull.

Very sad news. Strange but I had thought about calling him to check in a few weeks ago and never got around to it. One of the last times I talked to him was in 12/2011 when he called me after my Dad had passed away.

Roy was one of a kind and won't see anyone like that again I suspect.

It wouldn't surprise me if he had an Orange and White casket with a plasma TV in it. The guy lived and breathed UT football. And he let us have a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes.
