Our coverage on 3rd down always has that “soft seam” that announcers like to point out, and even if we do have them short, we allow them to get close enough to go for it on 4th down. Poor tackling is a big part of it…our defense is just so lacking at fundamentals it's criminal.

And other coaches know it and attack it...No matter who we play...P5...G5....FCS...they light us up with their passing game.

After last nights debacle, I expect a 72-0 beat down over UTSA and then a win over Carolina. They got a lot of work to do to get to the point of what I expect. There is still a lot to play for. Mailing it in now would reek of weakness of the whole team. Someone just kidnap Milton and send him somewhere to get his head examined.

I had to work last night and I’m glad I did because I’m not going to watch that replay. If Hype is soft on the players this is going to be a bad loss and the seams are going to burst and they’ll do no better than 6-6. If they learn from it, I think this will be a three loss team. For positive momentum of the program they cannot afford a 7 win or less season.

How is it that we have gone through at least four DCs since wavy chavy was here, and we still can't stop any team on 3rd down. It's like we're still using Mr. Coach Klein's green notebook on defense for the last 25 years.

It's a law in Knoxville that our DBs have to play 10 to 15 yards off receivers and never play the ball. We wait until they catch it free and clear and hope we can bump into them and they fall down...Only answer I got.

Our DBs apparently watch the Black knight scene from Search for the Holy Grail as a motivator before games. Or at least Hadden does, when he's not retreating from fights with his dukes up (which is ironic…maybe he doesn't wrap up a ball carrier because he's afraid of injuring his fighting hands)

Our Soul Patrol DBs have turned into The Marshmallow gang who are so soft they won't tackle and give up way too much cushion in pass game. Uf's run/short passing game fits our 2 deep defense perfectly. You would think after the 1st drive our DC would adjust. It took half time to get it done. Not good!
