That's kinda the whole gist…we paid bargain bin prices for football coaches for a long time. We wanted the powers that be to pony up for better coaches. Now that we have a hall of fame* coach, folks just expect results.

So far, so good this postseason. Last year, we won the SEC tourney then flamed out. This year, we flamed out in the SEC tourney but are one of 16 teams standing. If Barnes can get us to next Saturday, and, dare I say it…the next weekend, he'll have accomplished something that nobody can disparage.

Honestly, the way the last month or so of the season went, + the loss of ZZ, we've probably at worst matched our abilities, and possibly surpassed them already.

And I’m elated that TN won, I support the team(s). But I do not coach worship, be it Majors, Fulmer, CJH, Richt Barnes or any other you can mention.

When a guy is overpaid, by that I mean his salary is not commensurate to the returns on the field, court, etc. I call them out on it.

And I’m not hypocritical either like some who claim they never said anything about Fulmer’s salary and his returns on the field, etc. Pruitt’s buyout, Butch’s car…I can go on. For some reason some on here think Barnes is untouchable, well top 5 pay should net top 5 results.

It really is that simple.

Your 8 million dollar man got out coached today, that is all I have to go on. So right now, Barnes is the better coach, and he makes 3 million less per year. As of today Barnes is a bargain compared to Dukes coach.

Good post rocket. It's amazing how some folks complain about some posters bringing out negativity…then when we win a game that should unite all UT fans, those same folks post about other posters rather than the game. It's ironic.
