is when you can be selective. Binjimen Victor wanted to commit but was told no. So he commited to osu. We're getting the one we want....Callaway.

Still two weeks til nsd. But I believe they want to keep at least Henderson. Better player than many think. Henderson is a steal. Didn't go to a lot of camps so didn't get much exposure.

They aren't pissing off me. But apparently they are pissing off the players who they offered a commit only to retract it 2 weeks before signing day. And then the ones who are pissed take to Social media. Then national pubs like USA Today picks it up.

The coaches have far more than me to worry about so quit shucking and jiving.

BTW, as an indication of how IDIOTIC this hysteria over our recruiting ranking is, with Callaway's commitment we will jump 13 places in the rankings. THIRTEEN. We are taking a big hit in the rankings for having fewer than 20 (16) commitments. Look at OU....they are 3 spots ahead of us also with 16. Anyone think their fans are freaking out? There are others with 16ish commitments that are higher than us but generally they are programs like Clempson, Bama, UGA, USC that are either blue bloods or in Clempson's case a really hot program. Some folks need to change their diapers and put a pacifier in their mouth to suck on until NSD.

THere's also the post by the guy on VQ who says a coach who he had dinner with last night told him we only have 2 spots left and we are in very good shape.

I would have thought by now that you understand that the current topic of decommits and refusals to take a late commit are AV's Soup De Jour of the moment and he will post a couple of dozen times dissing the staff and head coach Butch Jones. This could continue until the next speck of potential negative information surfaces then he will move on and abandon this one, which he has already, in fact, beaten within an inch of its internet life.

Dr Doom just doesn't seem to understand how recruiting is done today. Which is amazing for someone who posts as an "expert" on the subject.

There are multiple types of offers. The devil is in the details. Some offers are unconditional to the very elite athletes. Others are conditional as to grades, progress on the field in their senior season, and most often, higher commitments on the Vols board.

If you take a lower rated kid early, it's almost always a conditional offer. Later, when the situation changes and the offer is null and void, the only party to the agreement that can talk publicly about the situation is a young man who may feel jilted. When the truth is, he was made aware long ago that certain conditions must exist on or near to signing day for his offer to be executable.

With Hart, it's obvious that he was told that he might be forced to blueshirt if kids higher on our board committed to us. This happened and Hart was unhappy about it. His unhappiness doesn't mean we didn't deal fairly with him, it just means he didn't get what he desired and like many pampered stars, is gonna pout about it.

I'm not concerned at all about how CBJ handles recruiting. I believe he does it the right way and lands highly ranked classes of good character kids. The proof is in the pudding.

True but if that wasn't part of the original deal or even discussed when he committed way back last summer then it is a change of the deal. That is where the "communication" gets into a he said/he said deal. If Hart is saying that he and his family weren't part of this deal last summer and it was sprung on them lately as a take it or leave it "new deal" then I think you would have the same problem if it was your kid.

If the above wasn't the case and the deal was there all along to suggest he Blueshift then Botch and GOBLINS need to tell Hubbs, Low, and other web based media their side of the story to get it out. Plus I assume they have told the High School HC their side of the story.

Look I want better players and if Hart isn't one of them then I am glad he isn't going to waste a spot on the team. But I still wish these type borderline players would be given conditional offers based on what they do their SR year (and barring severe injury) then solidify things OR cut bait in Mid November. 2 weeks before signing day is what they did to that Ford guy last year and they did it to someone else in the 2014 class as I recall.

Here is the post Brassy linked and the post by Brassy. I will highlight the parts of note and you tell me he isn't talking about Calloway. Especially look at Brassy's own post. And for your and Brassy the HC Luvr's note- we didn't sort of back off of BinVic due to henderson. If we backed off it is due to limited numbers and because they liked Calloway and maybe Velus Jones better.
