Proctor and Gamble Announce Another Wave of Retail Price Increases

Today, P&G announced an average price increase to retailers of 8% on their laundry products (Tide, Gain, etc.) effective with the next fulfillment of supplier purchase orders. On the liquid detergents that’s an average increase well over $1 per bottle…. YIKES.

You damn right, in 1969 one my of best friends broke his arm on the big ass, metal slide at Parkview Elementary and he was the toughest SOB I ever knew.

My son is an engineer in one of the P&G plants that pumps those laundry products out. They are working at full capacity 24/7 trying to keep up with the demand and their costs are increasing by the day. Not defending P&G, but this is really no surprise. It's coming from every direction.

Costs/Prices have been rising across the board for us and we are changing prices upward constantly - even on items we rarely touched for years. Fixed and variable costs have gone up 20+% in last year.
