Default Ominous post for Hammy, the UTAD and

    other SEC ADs on Gridscape.

"Our family is trying to decide whether to renew our 4 season tickets OR buy a Large HDTV.

One of the reasons given for the empty seats last year, besides the wrecakge Flumtard left us, was more people were staying home to watch on HD. If the whores in the SEC aren't careful they are going to kill the Golden Goose with their greed.

We are in a dying nation. College football will die along with everything else.

Riversetvol is right on target in his post. There are so many decent games on tv (and the tv pictures are so clear) that the average SEC fan will have little motivation to go see his team, if its record and performance are mediocre. It's a lot easier to recline on a couch with a cold beer and watch several decent games than it is to drive to a stadium and endure the game day hassle.

i gave up my season tickets last year. after i didn't renew them i got a call from the ticket office offering to make me a deal if i would renew. i declined. didn't even ask how deep a discount they were willing to make. this tells me that a ticket holder may be sitting next to someone who may be paying half what that guy is paying. not what i call fair play. my only regret is that i started paying that outrageous donation in the first place. i went to two games and paid face value for the tickets. had good seats. stayed home and watched the others on tv. didn't miss going to the games at all. with the teams we have put on the field the last few years, i don't see how we have sold as many tickets as we have. bama and fla fans have helped. they buy the tickets without making a donation. with a 12-13 record the last two yrs. and not much chance of doing any better this yr. hammy has a hard sell. i wish him well but will not be able to help . i didn't buy a tv with the money i saved. it just went into the general fund to pay for groceries, utility bills etc.my advice to the guy on vol chat. don't pay asking price. bargain with them.

We are giving up 2 of our 4 this year. We have two that are grandfathered and don't take a donation in section KK, and two that take a donation to renew the north end zone. Since my son is not around to go any longer, we don't need 4. I'll let somebody else have a shot at the north end zone seats and just pay for the tickets in KK without a donation.
