Got my first and only one in 2001.....174 yards used a 4 iron....it never left the pin, hit about 20 feet in front of the pin and rolled like a putt....My hand was shaking so hard I could barely get the ball out of the cup....

BTW: if you ever get one notify the ball company you used and they will send you some nice stuff...they did me....

When I was in the fifth grade, my best friend's Mother had just discovered golf. (Our town had had a country club and golf course for all of three years.)
She had played from the first day and was really enjoying it. Then another golf course opened in the next county, and one of the first times she played it, she got a hole in one.
(Way) back then, our part of the country didn't know much about golf, although the words hole in one denoted something special. That weekend (THE) Sam Snead was visiting the golf course in the other county to give golf publicity, and my friend's mother was so surprised to receive her hole in one golf ball, suitably mounted and with the proper engravings, from Sam Snead himself.
She stopped smiling about a week later.

I got one about 8-9 years ago. It was a slightly uphill par 3 and I did not get the satisfaction of seeing it track toward and then into the hole. i spent about 5 minutes looking for the ball on the back of the green before I got the nerve to walk over and look in the hole (I did not want to look like an idiot if my ball was found 50 yards from said hole).

Did you contact the company by phone or email? I never thought to do that, but I can always tell Nike about it now.

I sent them an email and then a letter with the scorecard that was signed by the other 3 players in my 4-some.......they sent me a dozen balls...a plaque...a nice certificate and a letter from the CEO of Precept....

Had one several years ago on a short, downhill par 3. Hit about 4 feet behind and rt of the pin, then came back into the hole. But, it didn't count. It was really a second shot (3rd w/ penalty) after first tee shot went into water. Just my luck, but at least I parred the damn hole!

Come very close several times, but no ace. I have had 2 eagles on par 4's which is basically the same from a shot making perspective. Both holed from 130-150 yards.

Had one a couple years ago at Deer Creek in Crossville. 150yd par 3 straight down hill. Impossible pin location at the bottom right of the green. Hit it on the fringe on the backside of the green with a touch of spin that sent it rolling back towards the hole which in that pin position is on a severe downslope. Ball just doinked off the flag and stayed down.

was standing at the tee box after just finishing a par three. the foursome behind teed off, three of them went either shot or long.. The fourth guy, hit a towering shot, We lost it in the sky. The ball came down the flagstick and bounce in the cup, straight up and straight down. We all stood there and watched as he came up, scratching his head looking for his ball. The senior golfer of our group, calmly walked him to the hole, and leaned him over. He went nuts.. Best golf Shot Ive ever seen.

about 1998 at our local club we had a group of 16-20 people that played every Sat. and Sun......the 18th hole was a par 4 that was converted into a par 3 because they were doing construction on the fairway....The converted par 3 was 130 yards uphill to a 2 tier green.....we were all sitting on the back patio waiting for the last group to come in....the first player got up and put it in the hole....the 2nd player hit his shot, it went up a slope off the fringe and rolled back and into the hole....back to back!!!...about 25 people were on the patio and we all went nuts..the club pro was there also and he couldnt believe it....what are the odds of that he said.....we still talk about that until this day....

I have seen about 15 hole in ones over the years

Had one in 2001. That is all in 43 years of golf. I have seen 3 others, also not a large amount for all the golf I have played.

The best one I ever saw went like this:
Playing in the quarterfinal round of the club championship, the other match playing with us- Player 1 went 3 up in match play after 11 holes. On hole 12, Player 1 hits ball within two feet on par three. Player 2 says "well, I guess I better knock this ball in." He does, hole in freaking one, gets the match to 2 down and has totally destroyed Player 1 mentally. Player 2 wins match 1 up.

My 15 yr old son hit one today at millstone, #16, 150 yd par 3 using a 7 iron! The pin was obstructed from the tee and he thought he had went over into the rough. We looked and didn't find it and I told him to check the hole. He thought I was kidding but finally looked. I wish I had a picture of the look on his face.

Legend - I was playing Deer Creek about 5-6 years ago and one of the players in my foursome hit a very similar shot. I've only played Deer Creek approximately 2-3 times over the past 10 years but I think it was hole 13 or 14 - I know it was on the back 9. Regardless, the green sloped severly from back to front and he hit it on the top right corner of the green and it sucked back to the front pin location and dropped in for an ace...
