To make sure all of it is legal?

Along that line, is it legal to tamper with your clubs to change the angle?

I do believe the equipment is checked, but I do not know if every driver is checked.

There is no rule on the angle...Tiger recently changed his driver angle to 10 degrees to get more loft and players will have differing angles of wedges.

There is a new rule that will go into effect in the next year or so that will affect the grooves on irons (no more square grooves).

More knowledgeable posters can chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

I was going to say that I don't think you can change lie angles and such on the course (not that that is even possible on the fly, IDK), but then, I wonder how it affects adjustable drivers like the R9 or the newer Sumo. I would think the big selling points are being able to adjust those drivers on the fly.
Did you hear where Tiger said that when he came on tour that his driver was set up to 6.5 degrees? Lowest I've ever seen by far.

I have used a 10.5 degree driver for the past 20 years...never used one lower than 9.5.......if I ever tried to hit a 6.5 I'd kill more worms than JC.....hell my putter has 6.5 degrees of loft in it......

you can change anything between rounds, you cannot change a club once the round has started. You can, however, replace a broken club during the round if possible.

My current driver is 10.5 loft with a very low launch shaft. I wish I coulda got 9.5 in the same driver.

I used to hit the ball extremely high but now I have cut my swing back I hit a normal height.

Back in those days if I hit it harder it didnt go further just higher, Probably meant I needed a stiffer shaft or lower lofts.

I like to driver with my 6.5 stiff shaft. Wish I had a 9.5 tho.

I am not much into watching golf for more than 5-10 minutes at a time or catching the highlights. However, this weekend (I think it was Saturday) there was a player putting with his driver. Based on what the announcers were saying this guy apparrently got pissed and broke or damaged his putter. As I understand it, he could not send for another putter because he broke it himself and that is why he was putting with a driver. Just what I remember from the broadcast.

I think it has to break during an actual swing to get to be replaced.
